WordPress is an online, open source website creation tool written in PHP. It’s probably the easiest and most powerful blogging and website content management system (or CMS) that exists today.

WordPress is 100% free. You've got two options:

Option 1: Wordpress.org - this is where you host your own blog or website. Check out the hosting companies we've listed here for our recommendations.

Option 2: Wordpress.com - this is where Wordpress takes care of all of the hosting for you. You don't have to download software, pay for hosting or manage a web server.

However, if you're serious about setting up your own website for business purposes, we always recommend Wordpress.org. It gives you more control and flexibility for your website.
